Getting Started
Xstrata Recycling is continually seeking new materials for recycling from both new and existing clients and industries. For those interested in working with us to develop a recycling solution for copper and precious metals, we have designed a thorough material approval and contracting process with which our commercial recycling representatives can assist you.
Material Evaluation
Before we will accept a new material for processing, we require a 5 pound/2 kilogram representative sample to be sent to a designated facility of Xstrata Recycling. A chemical analysis will be completed on the sample, as well as thorough environmental, hygiene, material handling and economic evaluations. Feedback on results is provided to clients and extensive work is done to determine the most viable recycling process we can offer.
Commercial Terms and Conditions
Once a material has been approved for recycling, we provide clients with clear and comprehensive contractual terms and conditions for processing the material. These terms are tailored to fit individual circumstances and requirements and include payment structures for copper and precious metal content.
Trial Shipment
The first load of new material will be delivered to Xstrata Recycling as a trial shipment. This will be assessed and if required, changes will be recommended to clients to ensure feasibility of continuing to process the material. In certain cases, materials can be shipped directly to one of our smelters.
